Need an annual exam, or just feeling off? We’re here.

In traditional healthcare, women’s concerns are often rushed, dismissed, or prescribed a generic fix. At Retreat, your care is as unique as you are.

What we treat—and how we treat it differently

  • Routine & Preventive: Annual well-woman exams, Pap smears, and STI screening.
  • Cycle & Period Concerns: Heavy, painful, irregular periods, PMS/PMDD, or spotting.
  • Hormones & Transitions: Perimenopause, menopause symptoms, and hormonal imbalances.
  • Vaginal & Sexual Health: Recurrent BV or yeast concerns, unusual discharge, itching, or vaginal dryness.
  • Family & Contraception: Contraception counseling, preconception awareness, and early pregnancy support.

What's included, and what happens during a visit?

Step 1: Unhurried Conversation
We start with a detailed, open discussion about your symptoms, menstrual history, sexual health, lifestyle, and overall wellness goals. We take the time to answer all your questions.

Step 2: Thoughtful Examination & Testing
For Annual Visits: Includes a preventive wellness assessment, breast exam, pelvic exam, and Pap smear or STI screening when indicated/requested. For Symptom-Focused Visits: Exams and testing are completely tailored to your specific concern.

Step 3: A Collaborative Plan
Rather than offering quick fixes, we discuss potential underlying causes, recommend any needed labs or imaging, and create a comprehensive care plan together.

FAQs

How does insurance work?

Retreat is a cash-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly; payment is due at the time of service. Upon request, we provide superbills for potential out-of-network insurance reimbursement, though coverage depends on your specific plan and is not guaranteed. Third-party labs, pathology, or imaging services are billed separately through those respective facilities.

Do I have to be a Retreat member to schedule a GYN appointment?

No. GYN appointments are available to both members and non-members.

Can I come in just for my annual exam/Pap smear?

Yes. You do not need to have a specific problem or symptom to establish GYN care with us.

How do I know if I'm due for a Pap smear?

Pap/HPV screening frequency depends on your age, previous results and medical history. We'll review your screening history and determine what's appropriate for you.

Can you test for STIs, BV or yeast?

Yes. We can evaluate symptoms and perform appropriate vaginal/cervical testing when indicated.

Can I come in for irregular, heavy or painful periods?

Absolutely. Menstrual concerns are one of the things we evaluate. We'll discuss your cycle history, symptoms and potential contributors and determine whether additional testing, labs or imaging may be helpful.

Do you offer care for perimenopause and menopause?

Yes. We can evaluate symptoms such as cycle changes, hot flashes, sleep disruption, vaginal symptoms, brain fog and other concerns and discuss individualized treatment options when appropriate.

Can you order labs or imaging?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, we can order laboratory testing and imaging and refer to another specialist when something requires care outside our scope.
